The Rwanda Cricket Association’s premier 50-over cricket tournament is set to kick off this Saturday, August 12th in Kigali. The RCA 50 Overs Premier League 2023 will feature 6 talented club teams facing off in a round-robin format over the next 4 months.
The teams participating this year include some familiar names like defending champions Challengers Cricket Club, who will look to capture another title after winning the RCA T20 Cup earlier this year.
IPRC Kigali CC, the reigning Rwanda T10 champions, will also be hungry to add a 50-over title to their cabinet.
Other contenders include Kigali Cricket Club, always a threat with their strong pace bowling attack. Right Guards Cricket Club and newcomers Telugu Royals Cricket Club and Zonic Tigers Cricket Club round out the competing sides.
Teams will play 15 matches against each other in a single round-robin. This format really rewards consistent performance over the course of the long season.
After all league matches, the team finishing at the top will be crowned RCA 50 Over Premier League 2023 Champions.
All the action will take place right here in Kigali at the fantastic Gahanga International Cricket Stadium. The RCA has really developed the facilities and tournament organization here over the past few years.
It should be an excellent venue to host what promises to be an exciting and competitive 50-over tournament.
